“Nonviolence means avoiding not only external physical violence but also internal violence of spirit. You not only refuse to shoot a man, but you refuse to hate him.”
—Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
As we at Peace Pandemic think about our focus on building peace and promoting understanding through cross-cultural cooperation, it is important to contemplate how to best focus on restorative justice and peace for the future. Encouraging the human-to-human connection is a promising tool, seeking more than the end of day-to-day violence. Learning about the wide world, experiencing new friendships, and learning about dealing with social challenges is all part of the journey to finding lasting peace.
It is amazing to see the resiliance of children and their ability to see the humanity in others. We must encourage them to be our future leaders, our future peacemakers.
Peace be with you
